Excellent, well-built & sturdy car mount - with fast, wireless charging on the go. The mounting mechanism worked well with Toyota's ventilation fins - with my Camry 2019, and wife's Corolla 2017. As long as the ventilation fins fit within the grasping spring of the mount, the hold is very secure. Also has an adjustable "tab" which helps keeps the mount situated vertically and away from the dashboard to help with the heavier phones and stability.
The magnet is superbly strong - keeps my iPhone 15 Pro Max well-connected, despite fast turns, curves and rattles when driving through various bumps and stone-paved roads. Has a satisfying click when attaching because of the strength of the magnet - lets you know it's well-attached and situated.
It's very easy to attach and remove - just move the phone near the mount, and it instantly snaps on. Removing it means just pulling it. No need to worry about trying to adjust mounting arms, feet, support, etc. No 2-handed operation required to mount/remove.
The only potential downside is the lack of active cooling fan - which is available in other ESR mounting ventilation models. This could be a good thing or not, depending on your preference. On one hand, an active cooling fan helps keep the phone cool while it's actively being used with sunlight shining on it, brightness set high, etc. On the other hand, it could be noisy. Ultimately, this is a preferential thing, and ESR does offer alternative models - look for the "Cryoboost" models.
Ultimately, this device will go into the wife's car, as she lacks a magsafe mounting option - that's a game-changer for stability, and ease of use!

The latest version of the ESR MagSafe car mount works better than the previous version
I will preface the review by saying that I have plenty of other ESR products at home and in the office and have always found them to be exactly as advertised. I had the previous version of the ESR MagSafe car mount and it still works great, but I did want to try the Qi2 15W version to see if charge time was improved and after a week+ of using it, I can say it does charge faster than the previous version, which is great whether you want to top off a nearly full batter or when your battery is low and you need to keep it going while running from place to place. So, definite plus for charging capability. As you can see in the picture, I attached the magnetic base to an existing mount on my Mini Cooper Clubman that sits behind the steering column. I originally did this with the previous mount in order to move it away from the air vent. As both devices use USB-C, I was able to unplug the previous mount and replace it with the new mount as simply as unscrewing the back cap and sliding the new one into place. Two things that I noticed that I didn’t expect when I swapped the mounts. First, the newer version has a smaller footprint (without the phone) than the prior version. This isn’t necessarily a big deal to me, since I keep my phone mounted on the ESR whenever I am in the car, but when I don’t use it or want to move it, I can take the arm and drop it lower thanks to the smaller base. So, another plus for the smaller size. The third thing I noticed, and it is really noticeable, is the strength of the new magnetic base compared to the prior version. The prior version’s magnet worked great and held tightly to the phone, but the newer version feels like it “reaches out” and grabs the phone as you move it into place. In fact, I was so surprised, that I compared both mounts, side by side, and there is a noticeable difference in terms of magnetic strength, so I have no doubt that the new version will hold on to my phone even in the event of big bumps or hard stops. My last several iPhone cases have been designed for MagSafe which is essential for a strong bond and the combination of the case with the new ESR car mount is perfect for keeping my phone in place. For now, I will be moving the previous version to my son’s vehicle to use, but if I didn’t have it, I would definitely buy the newer model due to the smaller size, more powerful magnet, quick charging, and my previous experience with the ESR brand.

I have had other vent phone holders, they never worked great. I decided I would try one more time with this style phone holder. It works great!! The magnet almost works too good! The stabilizing foot is key! I really think it makes a world of difference! I also appreciate the fact that using this type of holder puts the phone in a better viewing position than the cup style holder I have been using. Another positive aspect is that I can leave the cord plugged into the car and the charger so that I am not constantly plugging into the actual phone. The phone charges quickly. The only negative for me is that it didn’t come with a USB A to C adapter which I needed for my car. Luckily I had a spare.

This product is great! It charges my iPhone 14 Pro quickly and without it getting warm. I drive a 2007 Honda Odyssey, and the charger clips into the front console driver side air vent. For power, I have it plugged into my Scosche Bluetooth transmitter, which plugs into a cigarette lighter port. It's incredibly sturdy on the South Carolina potholes. The extra leg support is very good. Thought it does vibrate a little over a rough spot, it's nothing big that makes me concerned. It's pretty easy to snap my phone on and off, and the flexibility of movement is very nice. I can easily slide my phone from portrait to landscape mode. Great work, ESR!

As someone who is constantly on the road for work, having a reliable and sturdy car phone mount is essential. I've tried several different options in the past, but is the best one I’ve used so far. The first thing that impressed me was the incredibly strong magnetic connection. I was a bit skeptical at first, but it does hold my phone in place, no matter how rough the road gets. I've taken some sharp turns and sudden stops, and my phone has never once fallen off or even wobbled unlike previous holders. Attaching the mount to my car was also super easy. I opted to mount it on my air vent using the sturdy vent clip.I have no concerns about this thing falling off, even after extended use. You can rotate it once attached and that’s been more helpful than I thought. I use to have to connect to charge, but just snapping this on now is amazing. I’m impressed by the quality and performance of this product.

Zunächst einmal möchte ich die herausragende Qualität dieses Ladegeräts hervorheben. Es ist offensichtlich, dass ESR viel Wert auf hochwertige Materialien und eine erstklassige Verarbeitung gelegt hat. Das Produkt fühlt sich robust und langlebig an, was mir ein Gefühl der Sicherheit gibt, dass es lange halten wird.
Das schicke Design des Geräts ist ein weiterer Pluspunkt. Die schwarze Farbe passt perfekt zu meinem Autoinnenraum und verleiht ihm eine moderne und elegante Note. Die schlanke Bauweise des Ladegeräts fügt sich nahtlos in die Lüftungsschlitze oder das Armaturenbrett meines Autos ein, ohne dabei sperrig zu wirken.
Besonders beeindruckt bin ich von der Magnetfunktion dieses Ladegeräts. Die MagSafe-Technologie sorgt für eine sichere und stabile Befestigung meines iPhones auch während der Fahrt. Charging performance seems fine, just like MagSafe at home. You get a double-ended USB-C cable, so depending on your car, you may need a USB-C adapter, or your own USB-A to C cable to actually provide the juice. As the instructions note, your USB power source should meet the PD or QC fast changing standards to get the full performance. I did test it with a USB A-C cable on an old 3.1A adapter and it did still charge with that.
Overall, pretty easy to fit and just use without worries. Perfect if you're already in the MagSafe ecosystem (and if not, why not!)
