The downside? They are expensive and they get destroyed after usually 1-2 fish. I have never caught more than 3 fish on a single bait. You get to rig from one side, catch a fish, if the worms wtill with ya, you can bite the tattered end off, flip it around, hook from the "tail end" catch a fish and its toast. A true testament to how aggressively fish hit this lure, how soft the plastic is and how life-like the movements are.
After 20 minutes of fishing before a storm, still no bites on the Texas rigged curly tail worm.
On my second cast, while pulling out backlash this fighter helped me by pulling out more line. I effectively did nothing but misgauge the weight of my bait, and screw up my line, but still caught a fish.
Cast it, let it drop, wait a few. You won't be disappointed.
