- Reviewed in Australia on 13 November 2018Verified PurchaseThe main reason I gave this
Three stars is I respect Meade and there is some gold here
And I want more people to explore the topic.
But this book badly needs editing. Seriously. Meade is great, but he rambles on and on, which is really disappointing because this had th potential to be a great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book on applied mythology
Verified PurchaseI like they way Meade sticks to the thesis of the book throughout all the chapters. The moving away from the Hero myth is refreshing. I find Meade's chapter on the deserted children very insightful, as it gives a mythological explanation for the behaviour of at risk youth among others. His mythological way of handling young people who are presenting with suicide ideation is moving.
Maybe the writing of a preface, to introduce the thesis and basic concepts of the book, would be helpful for readers who are less familiar with archetypes and the mythology.
