Workflow Studio is a new visual workflow designer for AWS Step Functions that makes it faster and easier to build workflows using a drag and drop interface in the AWS console.

AWS Step Functions is a workflow orchestration service that makes it easy to build distributed applications, automate IT and business processes, and build data and machine learning pipelines using AWS services. You can compose services such as AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS, and AWS Glue into scalable, fault-tolerant workflows and applications.

Now, with the Workflow Studio for AWS Step Functions, you can build state machine based workflows visually in an experience that exposes all of the capabilities of Step Functions in an easy to use, low code interface. You can drag and drop flow and task states onto the canvas, and then configure states and data transformations using built-in forms, while your workflow definition is composed in real time. If you are new to Step Functions, Workflow Studio provides an easy way to build your first workflow that delivers business value. If you are a long time Step Functions user, you can use Workflow Studio to quickly prototype new workflows and share them with others. You can also use your prototypes as the starting point for local development in conjunction with the AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio Code, reducing the time spent building the structure of your state machine.

To get started using Workflow Studio, access the Workflow Studio from the Step Functions create and edit experience in the console. You can start from an existing workflow, an example workflow, or build a new workflow from scratch. Step Functions Workflow Studio is generally available in the following regions: Canada (Central), US East (Ohio and N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), EU West (Ireland), EU (Stockholm), Asia Pacific (Tokyo and Mumbai), and South America (Sao Paulo). It will be generally available in all other regions where Step Functions is available in the coming days. For a complete list of regions and service offerings, see AWS Regions.
