Hamilton Beach BrewStation 12 Cup Dispensing Coffee Maker
Maintain fresh-brewed flavor.
No matter how much you try, it’s impossible to get freshly brewed flavor from coffee that’s been sitting on a hot plate too long. That’s why we created the Hamilton Beach BrewStation, the only coffeemaker that keeps coffee tasting fresh for up to four hours. This best-selling coffee maker works just like a traditional, automatic drip brewer, but with a notable difference: it brews into an internal tank instead of a carafe. This innovation in brewing technology is what will make your last cup taste just as fresh as the first. An internal heater keeps coffee at the perfect temperature for up to four hours, so you can refuel with a fresh, hot cup throughout your morning.
And with no glass carafe, you have nothing fragile to break and replace. Instead, you can easily pour a cup with the one-handed simplicity of a dispensing bar. The BrewStation lets you customize your cup with brewing options like bold, regular, small batches and even iced coffee. The water tank is removable for easy fill-up and cleaning. The internal tank and brew basket also remove for cleaning.

We are so happy with this purchase, before after one hour our other coffee pot would turn off, and the coffee would get cold this when you can program it between 1 to 4 hours to stay on, we bought a reusable filter so we don’t have to keep buying the paper ones just make sure after you’re done using it when you clean out that reusable filter lift up the other part underneath and rinse that really good so the coffee does it take on the bottom and you’re using new coffee over old coffee. It works great. We love it and very happy we purchased it :-)
Hamilton Beach Engineers get your act together: Unfortunately, there is a flaw in the design that causes unimaginable frustration and very limited product life of maybe a year. The flaw ruined the first three Brew Stations that we bought. We discovered that the Coffee Dispenser Bar would no longer release coffee from the Coffee Tank (see A in Frame 1 of the figure). Pushing that Bar should force the plastic Lever B (in Frame 2) toward the front of the unit. One can see, by tipping the Coffee Tank backward, the plastic Coffee Release Valve C (in Frame 3); the valve has a very stiff spring to prevent coffee from accidently dripping out. At first, it seems the lever B fails by no longer making contact with the valve but placing a pad between B and C does not help and eventually Lever B breaks away. We found that Lever B is quite flexible in a failed unit compared with a new unit. This means Lever B in a failed unit does not have the rigidity to open the Valve C to release the coffee. Moral of the Story: Hamilton Beach, please consider making the Lever B and associated components out of metal. A couple of events might be occurring (or both). First repeated pressure on the Lever B might fatigue the plastic. Second, the Lever B is next to the high temperature heating element and high temperature is well known to deteriorate the strength of plastic. After all these years, this defect cannot be a surprise to the company. Perhaps replacement parts are available. We only finally figured out the problem when we were in a position to compare failed and new units.
Finally, we plan on returning the new unit that arrived today because the Lid hinge was apparently damaged during shipping – the plastic protrusion forming a hinge was broken off – the Lid flaps around.
But again, we absolutely love the Hamilton Beach Brew Station but definitely not the nasty flaws.
Update: Engineering and quality control departments need massive downsizing: The new Brew Station leaked all over the counter. First one with this flaw out of the 5 we tried. Surprising the Hamilton Beach lawyers don't start to worry.

First of all, if you have a habit of occasionally breaking glass pots, this is perfect for you. It brews fast and will keep it warm up to four hours. I would prefer no shutoff at all, because I will drink a pot of coffee throughout the morning when I'm working at home, and it's irritating to go for my last cup and find that it's cold... but four hours is much better than most at two hours.
I do, however, miss the old-school glass pot, and am thinking about switching back to one. Mainly because this unit is too light for the pressure required to dispense the coffee, even when the tank is full. I put an old pill box behind it to brace it against the wall, but I don't like having it that far back all the time. It's a pain in the ass to always have to push it back against the wall or hold it in place as I push the cup onto the dispensing button... which brings the other issue: You have to hit the button just right to get it to dispense coffee. Cups with curved sides or lips that curve out can present a problem.
Also, you will have to reset your time frequently because the buttons to set it are WAY too easy to hit accidentally when having to move it or hold it in place.
As for some of the other reviews I've read:
1) Condensation running down the side and/or back, or filling up under the coffee tank..
So far, I haven't had a problem with this, although I do accept the fact that condensation goes along with steaming hot water. I think I learned about that in grade school at some point. I can't say it's that much more than most other coffee makers I've had. I don't have a problem with too much water draining under the coffee tank either. I live in Las Vegas where it is usually pretty dry, and you may have more condensation issues in more humid climates, but this issue seems to be rare.
2) Scorched coffee flavor.
Every two or three times that you rinse out the coffee tank (presuming that you do), take your dish sponge and WIPE THE WARMING PLATE CLEAN! If it's cool, you can do it with your finger. A lot of it will come off from spraying it with water. If you have to use a steel wool pad or a chisel, then you might have waited a bit too long.
3) Not hot enough.
It's hot enough that it's still hot after adding my cream to it. If not for that, I might have to let it cool off for a minute. Now I know a few people who can guzzle hot coffee straight out of the pot, and if that's the standard this is measured by, then maybe it does lack a bit... but it seems to maintain a reasonable temperature for most people.
